Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam, 11th President of republic of India. A name which garnered respect from every living soul who have heard about him. His simplicity, down to earth attitude, genuineness was something which has never seen in any Indian till date. Probably he is first and most apt person bestowed with honour of Bharat Ratan. All other recepients of Bharat ratan can be questioned on their ability, but Dr. Abdul kalam is miles ahead of all.
<br />
<br />
Such a great human being, rising steadily from small coastal town of Rameshwaram in Tamil Nadu and reaching Raisina hills is a story which can motivate any body who feels low due to difficulties or feels burdened by Indian education system. With sad demise of Dr. Kalam an era of Indian missile mission has definitely came to an end. May god give peace to the departed soul. Every Indian would definitely remember you and that too as a role model.</div>

<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: left;" trbidi="on">
<iframe frameborder="0" scrolling="no" src="http://www.facebook.com/plugins/like.php?href=indiaassuperpower.blogspot.com" style="border: medium none; height: 20px; width: 300px;"></iframe></div>
Economic Inequality is on a rise everywhere in the world, especially in developed countries including Britain and US. Rich have become super rich, poor have become poorer and middle class has already starting dimnishing rather merging with the poorer ones. Society structure in changing at rapid pace from a flat shape to hour-glass structure. I would explain the hour-glass structure later in this post. The reason for this rising economic inequality is - "TRICKLE DOWN ECONOMY or the 1% RULE"<br />
<br />
Recently some of these traits of trickle down economy or the 1% rule has started being included in Indian Finance Budget 2015. You must be wondering what is this Trickle down Economy?
Trickle down economy basically means that give tax sops to the superrich, or the 1% of the people of country, so that they have enough money to spend it back and this money returns in the society in terms of new jobs/investments. However this move have already started backfiring in developed countries. Events like "Occupy Wall Street" is one classic example of the seriousness of this rich-poor divide.<br />
<br />
Trickle down economics is currently being implemented in almost every industry in the world, Companies have starting following the so called "Hour Glass" employee heirarchy structure. Now many of us our not even aware about what is this "Hour glass" structure? Simply put it means pruning the middle management/managers and moving to a structure where there are directors and the lower level employees like team-lead, engineers etc. This structure ensures that the 1 percent rule is also implemented partially as majority of the finances are distributed in top 1 percent of the employees(not according to performance, but according to the seniority of the managers). A recent survey of CXO's salary in Britain has revealed that an CEO is paid 78 times the average employee salary of the same company. This survey results would however differ from payscale offered in different countries/sectors.
<br />
<br />
The 1 percent rule ensures that super-rich pays very less tax when compared to an average tax-payer, whereas they earn many times an average citizen of a country. It has been noticed that if super-rich are taxed heavily then they route their profits to a tax heaven and in this way economy suffers, Governments thought that this should be plugged and hence decided to lower the tax rates for the superrich, so that money remains in the country itself, This move ignored the increase in society divide between rich and poor. Hence showing that rich become even richer and Poor becomes poorer. Since the economic crises of 2008, the average employee salary has remained almost stagnant in US, whereas CXO's salaries have increased many times, thus increasing the financial divide of the society even further. There are plenty of tax saving schemes for the top managment ie leasing a car on company's name instead of buying it directly. Can't they pay for their own car, WAIT, why would they do so, as this would save the tax amount.<br />
<br />
Top 1% of population of a country(or the super-rich) see rest 99 percent as an business oppurtunity. One major disadvantage of this trickle down economy is that it is silent killer of the middle class. Therefore the whole idea of no taxes for super-rich, which initially was thought to raise the number of middle-class citizens is infact killing the middle class by merging them with the bottom half of the hour glass society. Super-rich keeps on sucking more money from the poor and middle class and earns lot of profits. They have money and invest their tax free money into companies which work for the poor (like Wal-mart) or open up ultra luxury products businesses(luxury real estate, luxury consumer goods). You all might have already seen this trend starting in India too as more and more HNI's invest in luxury apartments, villas, high end cars, bikes, consumer goods etc, and this trend is surely here to stay as Indian government has proposed various schemes in union budget 2015 which benifits the HNI's . Some of these include abolishing property tax etc.
<br />
<br />
This whole idea of trickle down economy would eventually eat up the middle class of a country and increase the rich-poor divide further. CXO's salaries in Indian companies are already on a steep rise, whereas the actual workers are paid much lesser. I tried to understand how and why this trend started. CXO's salaries are directly linked to company's performance which is direcly linked with the expenses. Everyone knows that employee wages is the biggest expense for a company and since CXO's and upper management salaries are linked with the financial performance of the company, it is quite logical that their compensation rise would directly mean decrease in percentage of average pay hike throughout the company. Another step taken by top management in order to keep wage cost in control is pruning the middle management. Do you remember that recently many IT companies distributed pink slips to manager level employees, giving lame reasons for doing so. The main reason why top management wanted this was - their own compensation hike by keeping wage costs low.
<br />
<br />
In comning days you would see this trend in all the companies, where there would be directors and very few senior managers. Team leads would be made to do tasks assigned to managers(while being paid less then half the salary of manager), while directors keep the major money in their own hands. </div>

(11/2/2015- <strong>Swiss Leaks</strong>) - One of the news which made subdued headlines was that 'HSBC and government of india have disclosed names of people who have illegal accounts in HSBC banks in Geneva' . These accounts were opened by these Indians to stash away their black money. However as expected none of the Indian media, except IndianExpress displayed the list of these people on their websites, Nor any of the media house ran this news repeatedly to let more and more indians know the black worth of richest indians.<br />
<br />
It was quite obvious that media houses would not run this news at primetime because many of the media houses like Network 18 are owned by people whose names have surfaced in this list. Anyways I am sharing the list of top 100 people with Black Money accounts and Indian Addresses in this post, and I urge that since it is a confirmed list by bank itself, please share the word around as you would not find much information in mainstream media, except IndianExpress, whose journalists were part of the team of global journalists working on these #swissleaks.<br />

<iframe frameborder="0" scrolling="no" src="http://www.facebook.com/plugins/like.php?href=indiaassuperpower.blogspot.com" style="border: medium none; height: 20px; width: 300px;"></iframe></div>
(4/2/2015 <strong>India-as-superpower</strong>) - Government of India is rejoicing falling crude oil prices due to oversupply in global market by US shale oil, I have already explained in detail about falling oil prices and US link to it on this post.<a href="http://indiaassuperpower.blogspot.in/2015/01/falling-global-oil-prices-and-usa-link.html" title="falling oil prices">Falling Oil prices and US link to it</a>. Indian government<br />
<a name='more'></a>and cabinet minister have got golden chance of filling their coffins by increasing the excise duty on petrol and diesel. In the last six months since the prices of crude oil are falling globally, Indian government has increased excise duty on petrol by 8.95 INR per litre and excise duty hike for diesel has been at INR 7.96 /litre , Had Modi led Govt of India stick to it's words that oil prices are linked to global market prices and they would not hike excise duties for regulation of retail prices and their own advantage, only then it would have been correct to say that Indian retail oil prices show correct picture of global oil prices.</div>
<br />
Had Ministers of Indian government decided not to raise excise duty on petrol and diesel. Petrol price in Delhi would have been at [56.49 - 7.75(excise duty hike) = 48.74 /litre and Diesel price would be at [46.01 - 6.50 (excise duty hike)] = 39.51/litre . Actual diesel price in delhi (if the govt wanted to curtain inflation really by not hiking diesel prices) would be 39.51/litre and petrol at 48.74/litre. This is actual price at which petrol and diesel should be sold today if government wants to say that Petrol and Diesel prices are deregulated in India. <br />
<br />
Indian citizen should now know that when any minister in government of India says that "Petrol and diesel prices are deregulated and government has no control on it" Then he is uttering a simple <strong>White lie</strong> and this method of fooling people of India doesnot work any more, as common man of India is well aware of government using such methods of sucking hard earned money of stupid common man in names of taxes/duties providing them nothing in return. Argument on 'nothing in return' can continue for weeks without any outcome.<br />
<br />
Currently Government of India uses excise duty route to regulate the retail oil prices in India. Imagine had the retail oil prices really deregulated completely without any external controlling by Government and Diesel would have been retailing at 41.76/litre instead of 48.26 per litre then inflation would have certainly be lowered and seriousness of government about controlling retail inflation would have been proved working.<br />
<br />
Anyways since ministeries have power to fill their coffins with money and with virtually no say of common man in whole indian political system. These day robberies would continue to happen until the citizens become well aware of these all malpractices. This would take time though.

<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: left;" trbidi="on">
<iframe frameborder="0" scrolling="no" src="http://www.facebook.com/plugins/like.php?href=indiaassuperpower.blogspot.com" style="border: medium none; height: 20px; width: 300px;"></iframe></div>
(1/2/2015 <strong>India-as-superpower post</strong>) - We all know that Real Estate market of India is going from the most rough phase from last 2-3 years, thanks to recession and downturn in Global economic scenario and economic paralysis created by previous Indian governments by stalling infrastructure projects. This situation is here to stay for another 2-3 years until some demand picks up. This economic slowdown and subsequent decrease in demand of housing sector has forced Real estate developers in India to offer payment plans which act as bait in bringing new buyers to their projects. One of such payment plan which came up during recession time was <strong>interest subvention plan</strong> or <strong>subvention plan</strong>.<br />
<br />
Now the question arises:<br />
<br />
Whom does subvention payment plan help the most?<br />
<br />
Any answer....yes the obvious answer to this question is 'Builder' and 'bank' and I would explain the how part of this answer.
<br />
<br />
Private banking players act smart here as all of the subvention payment plans are financed by Private banks rather then government bank.
They have opened up a huge credit market for private banks who are ever desperate for giving credit cards or personal loans or home loans.<br />
<br />
Let me explain the working of subvention plan wrto other payment plans and how is it very expensive.<br />
<br />
present basic price of flat in Flexi or CLP plan - 2900 per sqft
basic rate for subvention plan - 3400
Let super area of flat - 1000 sq ft
basic price of flat in Construction Linked Plan or flexi payment plan(excluding any PLC charges, parking charges) - 2900000<br />
basic price of flat in Subvention payment plan - 3400000<br />
difference - 500000
Time frame for which builder pays installment - 3 years
Another catch is that in subvention plans prevalent in real estate market is that builder would pay the interest amount to bank for a period of 3 years only. It's damn sure that the possession would not start in 3 years rather going by present construction trend in real estate market, a project takes minimum 5 years for completion(for majority of the builders). Add some 6-1 year of halt period due to any farmer issue, environment clearance issue for particular project etc and it the time could be easily extended by 1 year to 6 years till buyer gets possession. So builder pays interest on disbursed money for 3 years and then according to flat buyer agreement with buyer, the owner starts paying EMI after this 3 year period is over.<br />
<br />
For flat of worth 3400000(under subvention plan):<br />
payment schedule - 10:80:10<br />
initial payment by buyer - 10 percent =340000<br />
Bank pays 80 percent - 2720000<br />
Buyer payment(on offer of possession) - 10 percent = 340000<br />
Time lapse between offer of possession and handing over of keys by builder - ~6-12 months.<br />
<br />
If any builder offers subvention plan where EMI payable by buyer would start on handing over the keys of flat is much better plan for the buyer as it would save atleast 6 months burden when EMI and rent would go simultaneously.<br />
<br />
Carrying on with the example:<br />
Lets consider that a interest demand for 10 percent comes after gap of 6 months.
Hence for 1st demand of 340000:
Interest part for 6 months for loan term of 20 years:
2975*6 = 17850 (total for 6 months)
After next demand is raised:
5950*6 = 35700 (total for 6 months)
After next demand is raised:
8925*6 = 53550 (total for 6 months)
1 year of subvention plan is complete
After next demand is raised:
11900*6 = 71400 (total for 6 months)
2 years of subvention scheme are complete
After next demand is raised:
14875*6 = 89250 (total for 6 months)
After next demand is raised:
17850*6 = 107100 (total for 6 months)
3 years of subvention scheme complete
Total Interest paid by builder in three years - 374850, therefore excess amount charged from buyer - (500000 - 374850) = 125150.
After completion of 3 years the EMI would start which needs to be paid by the buyer, there are good 2 years remaining in actual possession of flat to happen. Hence donot fall into the trap of subvention scheme, instead opt for construction linked or flexi payment plan. Both these plans are almost similar with the only difference is that in Flexi plan initial payment is 10-20 percent(dependent on builder) more then construction linked payment plan. CLP plan is 200 per sqft dearer then flexi plan however.<br />
<br />
Another demerit of Subvention payment plan is that it makes 80 percent loan amount mandatory for a buyer(which is again trap by the banks(majority of which are private players with direct setting with builder lobby.<br />
<br />
This is my perspective of comparing different payment plans prevalent in India. Other might have an argument that subvention plans is confirmation of house in just few lacs rupees which is is so good deal to resist. But Donot fall into this trap of subvention plans. If you donot have enough money and there is no other option then you should opt for subvention plan which offers No EMI till handing of flat keys and there is no clause in agreement about 3 year time as I mentioned before.</div>

(27-1-2015 <strong>India-as-superpower</strong>) - Getting Police clearance certificate in India is thought to be most difficult thing to get(If you donot want to pay the demanded bribe to police personal). Rightly so as one would probably not get his police clearance certificate if he doesnot pay the demanded money. In this blog post I would give detailed description of whole process of applying for police clearance certificate in India.<br />
<br />
Getting a <strong>Police Clearance Certificate</strong> has different application phases from which every application must pass. I would also give information about government fees wherever applicable. Following are different steps for each <strong>Police Clearance Certificate application</strong><br />
<br />
1. <strong>Fill Police Clearance Certificate application form</strong>: Filling of police clearance certificate form is the first step for getting your police certificate. For this the applicant has to goto office of Commissioner of police and fill the application form for Police Clearance Certificate. This form includes information about your house address, Passport number and other personal details. Don't forget to carry your passport size photograph alongwith and attach it on the application form.<br />
<br />
2. <strong>Submit completed application form</strong>: Once you have completely filled the PCC application form, you need to submit the form to the designated public counter(present at office of Commissioner of police office). Person would enter your application details to their database, one copy of passport's front and back page can also be submitted alongwith the form. After he fills your data onto system, get ready for getting your photo clicked on the spot. After photo is clicked then the person would forward your PCC application to the Police station under which your house address falls. He would give you application number. <br />
<br />
3. <strong>Clearance from Police Station</strong>: Next step is to get a recommend PCC certificate from the police station of your area. Once your online application is taken up by police station, you would get a phone call from Police Station to come to police station with documents(2 identity cards - aadhar card, passport etc). You would get a form of neighbour evidence for each of the applicant. This form needs acknowledgment of two persons who know you. You need to paste two of their passport size photos and copy of one ID proof (voter card, Driving license etc). Submit this form to the police station along with your two id proof's. Application would now be moved for getting signature of the SHO on it. Once the SHO signs your application then the staff at police station updates your online application and step 3 is done after you get clearance from SHO. This step cannot be completed if you donot give the asked bribe or if you donot know any person of police links in your district. So you need to do any one of them.<br />
<br />
4. <strong>Clearance from ACP of your area</strong>: After the SHO signs your form, he would give the form to you for getting it signed by the ACP of your area. This step doesnot need any bribery and can be completed without paying any money(other then legal fees). Deposit INR 50 per application as legal fees and paste the receipt along with your file. Now your this step of getting clearance from office of ACP is done. They would update your online application from their perspective.<br />
<br />
5. <strong>Clearance from Commissioner of Police</strong> - Once an applicant completes step 1-4 he is ready to submit his application form at office of commissioner. This step happens at the same counter where you submitted your application form (Step 2). Attendant would check your processed data online and would show you the details of application data(for any errors in name, address), check details carefully and give ok for this data. This person would now take print of the <strong>Poilce Clearance Certificate</strong> and get it signed from office of Commissioner of Police and hand it over to you.<br />
<br />
Cheers Now you have your PCC in your hand and probably whole process is now clear to you.<br />
<br />
<strong>The same process can be applied through website of Passport seva</strong><br />

(26-1-2015 <strong>India-as-superpower</strong>) - Many of the passport applicants have not so good experience of applying passport in India. Since now taking an appointment for passport application is automated and available online, It has become much easier now to get an Indian passport.<br />
<br />
Recently I applied passport for my minor son and thought of penning down all the sequence of events/steps which everyone has to follow while applying for minor's passport under tatkal service.<br />
<br />
Following are the steps which a person has to undergo while applying for minor's passport under tatkal seva:<br />
<br />
1. <strong>Get online appointment</strong>: One has to sign-up for the government of India, ministry of external affairs website <a href="http://passportindia.gov.in/AppOnlineProject/welcomeLink">passport application website</a>. After sign up one has to fill all the fields required for fresh passport application and fill all the fields for minor applicant. User has two options for filling up passport form:<br />
<br />
a)Download form and fill it offline and then upload it after completing the form<br />
b) fill and save the data online.<br />
<br />
Both the methods need good internet connection. There are some 4-5 screens which would ask for information needed for completing the application, Press SAVE button after filling all the mandatory fields of each page. Once you have entered all the data then verify it's correctness and press SAVE and SUBMIT button. This would save your information and give you a ARN number. Now click on pay fees and book appointment link. You would probably get appointment of next working day, If applying tatkal quota. If you are applying under normal quota then you would get slot available on closest date(which can be 10 days away). Since I applied for appointment on saturday, I got appointment for monday morning.
<br />
<br />
2. <strong>Gather your required documents</strong>: I started gathering below mentioned documents needed for minor's passport for tatkal passport:<br />
a) <strong>Passport copy of both parents (front and back page)</strong>. If Spouse name is endorsed on at least one of the parents passport then police verification is not needed<br />
<br />
b) <strong>Birth Certificate of minor</strong>: Carry a photocopy and original birth certificate of minor applicant.<br />
c) <strong>Marriage certificate of parents</strong>: Marriage certificate is not mentioned on governments website but is often asked by documents collector/verifier at the suvidha center.<br />
d) <strong>Identity proof/address proof of parents</strong>: Carry Identity proofs of parents(aadhar card, ration card, voter card, landline bill, bank passbook) would do. I gave Aadhar card for me and spouse.<br />
e) <strong>Annexure H on plain paper</strong>: Fill the annexure H declaration and print it on a plain paper(A4 size).<br />
f) <strong>Notary attested Annexure I</strong>: Annexure I declaration by parents is needed for applying minors passport in tatkal category, get it attested by notary. This costs INR 100 at my city and 10-15 mins to get it from courts.
Carry the original parents passport's, marriage certificate, address proof's, minor applicants birth certificate. Stack all the documents in a file and keep printout of appointment letter along-with it.<br />
<br />
3. <strong>Reach designated PSK</strong>: On your day of appointment for passport, it is advised to reach the Passport seva kendra at least 15 mins in advance to your scheduled timing.<br />
<br />
4. <strong>Get your appointment letter checked</strong>: Security personal at entry of PSK would ask for your appointment letter and check the timings and would allow you to enter the Passport seva kendra. Now the whole process would passport application process would take at least an hour.<br />
<br />
5. <strong>Get token number</strong>: When you get entry to PSK then you have to go to counter and get token number for your appointment. Person at counter would ask for all the documents which I have mentioned in step 2 and check the originals too. Then they would give you token number. for applying in tatkal your token is prefixed with letter 'T' followed by number.<br />
<br />
6. <strong>Document uploading and completion</strong>: Next step is going to counter number starting with 'A'. There are numerous A counters inside a PSK. Here they would collect all the photocopies of documents and upload it to their database. Person would get your biometrics, thumb impression in case of minors. It is generally done in 15-20 mins<br />
<br />
7. <strong>Document verification</strong>: After completing counter 'A' formalities, you have to wait till the tv screen shows a 'B' counter number against your token number. Once it is displayed goto corresponding counter 'B' and get your original documents verified. Time taken is generally 5-10 mins.<br />
<br />
8. <strong>Grant Section Counter 'C'</strong>: After finishing document verification at counter B, wait till your token number is assigned to officer at counter 'C', C number counter's are passport grant counters and may verify your documents again. Time taken 5-10 mins.<br />
<br />
9. <strong>You are done</strong>: After counter C processes your file, you would get a receipt for passport application and minor's passport would arrive in 3-5 day's time at your address mentioned while filling the online passport form. This is because of no police verification step involved in case of minor's passport.<br />
<br />
Hope that now you would get a good pre-understanding of passport application process and different steps involved in it. If you feel like thanking for this post then do press like button or share this post with friends.</div>

Greetings from <strong>India-as-superpower</strong> blog
<br />
<br />
As an Indian the news about falling crude oil prices bring cheers on our face as it reduces our oil import bill, and since petrol and diesel prices are now linked to market directly it reduces the retail prices, It also helps the Ruling party which increases excise rates on petrol to fill their money chests. We all are very happy and so are almost all of the oil importing countries. Other thing which makes us even more happy is that the prices would reduce further till mid 2015 and if Indian government feels that their pockets have no space left for further excise duty hike we might see further decrease in retail prices of both petrol and diesel in coming weeks.<br />
<br />
The big question which arises is :<br />
<br />
<strong>Why are prices of oil falling and who is doing this and why?</strong><br />
<br />
Answer to this question is not very difficult and is infact a single word - USA, Now why US would do this? and answer to this is to get more control/share of global oil market. I would explain the 'How' part in following text.<br />
<br />
This all starts from what is known as <strong>shale oil</strong>, which is a substitute for crude oil. United States of America has world's largest deposit of shale oil and gas, and US oil companies such as Shell have started producing shale oil from oil shale on commercial level if I iterate their words 'shale oil exploration can be sustained at cost as low as $18 per barrel. Don't be too happy now as it might never reach to this level(even in present scenario). USA is flooding market/using shale oil and has drastically reduced it's oil import bill, thus forcing prices to fall and make other OPEC countries to cut oil production.<br />
<br />
World is currently witnessing over supply of oil, which is much more then what it needs. Since the demand and supply principle is basic for pricing of any commodity, hence fall in price is very logical. At this stage next question which comes to our mind is quite obvious:<br />
<br />
<strong>Why would oil producing countries do nothing in controlling the supply?</strong><br />
<br />
Answer to this question is again a single word - USA, and I'll explain why USA would do this. US has started commercial exploration of oil shale and it needs market for it. Present global oil supply market share is very well divided between Middle east, Iran, Russia, Venezuela and Iraq apart from some other small suppliers. USA wants to increase it's share and then govern the whole oil pricing globally. Hence it has flooded the markets with shale oil. Since it has deep pockets it can sustain any price levels for much more time when compared to conventional oil producers of the world. <br />
<br />
There is also political factors involved in this which is further forcing USA to refrain from cutting oil supply. Iran, Russia, Venezuela are not allies of USA and are rather against it diplomatically, economically, politically(you can add more terms here), Venezuela has 95 percent of government revenues coming from oil export, Russia has 70 percent of money coming from oil export. Falling oil prices have already playing it's intent with ruble down by 60 percent. Russia's attack on Ukraine is probably the reason. budget deficits of these three countries are rising and soon economies would see major cuts in government spending . This fall would also weaken Iraq and Syria (including the areas controlled by ISIS) as this terror organization would get too less money from oil which they sell. <br />
<br />
Oil producing countries (OPEC) have decided to refrain from cutting output fearing that US would increase shale oil output further and get hold of their present market share. Hence in long term what I feel is that falling oil prices shall have a positive effect on world and oil importing countries as these countries(including India) would contain their budget deficit. <br />
<br />
Probably by 2020 USA would become biggest oil produces of the world and would be called 'Saudi America' sounds funny but is very effective.</div>

<iframe frameborder="0" scrolling="no" src="http://www.facebook.com/plugins/like.php?href=indiaassuperpower.blogspot.com" style="border: medium none; height: 20px; width: 300px;"></iframe>
Welcome to <strong>Indiaassuperpower</strong>, your one stop blog for views on India and Indian politics.<br />
<br />
Recently Government deregulated Diesel pricing in India, hence making both Petrol and Diesel prices dependent on the global oil market dynamics. Actually government boasted about this bold step and rightly so as it ended subsidy burden which government carried from so many years.<br />
<br />
So I wanted to stick to the basics and gather information about who benefits the most from this move(apart from the Government)? Any guesses whom it would benefit even more?
<br />
<br />
Ok I'll start with a real life scenario where it is clear that this move benefits the political class the most, I can also reiterate the same as 'Political class would use this move for their monetary benefit rather then working for society' and following describes how it benefits them:<br />
<br />
We all are aware that almost all of the private transport companies(road transport/rail transport etc) are owned and controlled by the political class and we also know major reason for the same, that transport business (bus transport) is a business where you get a lot of hard cash at end of the day, and in India nothing can match the power of hard cash(we have seen this during voting days when cash is distributed freely).<br />
<br />
Diesel prices have shrinked by more then 10 percent in last 6 months, but what I have noticed is that the transport companies(or any other businesses which has diesel as their major input cost) have not decreased the ticket prices by a single paisa in last 6 months(I can confirm this for Punjab where I have recently traveled in buses owned by ruling politicians of state) and you donot have to be super intelligent to say that hence this scenario would be in all Indian states, and we all are well aware of the fact that whenever there is slight increase in the diesel price we can see immediate increase in ticket prices. Present transport fares are ones which were prevelant when diesel was atleast 10 percent expensive then today, but there has been no decline in the fares<br />
<br />
.
Now forget about private transport companies owned by Indian politicians, lets talk about railways. There has been regular rise in prices of train fares in past while we know that Diesel prices have actually declined. Hence the extra money collected clearly benefits the already super rich politicians, rather then the poor who travel in sleepers and second class bogies by spending their hard earned money.
<br />
<br />
Now the big question is that:<br />
<strong>In an economy where government has deregulated the price of Diesel and Petrol, Why there has been no measures to make transportation costs linked to fuel costs?</strong> particularly when the prices of oil are decreasing. JUST for filling coffins of the political class?<br />
<br />
I don't know if someone might have thought on same lines....but according to me it is actually a daylight robbery being committed on roads and railways by the political class.<br />
<br />
It has also provided a free hand to government to increase excise duty on petrol and diesel in name of controlling fiscal deficit.<br />
<br />
Concluding this post I strongly believe that the sector which has diesel as major input material for them should also be directly linked with the prices. ie ticket fares of railways/buses/autos/three-wheelers should increase/decrease as the prices of crude oil increases/decreases every fortnight, as otherwise this robbery by political class would continue and they would keep on filling their coffins and poor mango-man would keep on purchasing overpriced bus and train tickets.<br />
<br />
What are your views about the same, Do comment for a healthy discussion. THANKS for reading and if you like it that share it!</div>

<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: left;" trbidi="on">
<iframe frameborder="0" scrolling="no" src="http://www.facebook.com/plugins/like.php?href=indiaassuperpower.blogspot.com" style="border: medium none; height: 20px; width: 300px;"></iframe></div>
Winston Churchill once said "when ever we leave India, It would be ruled by the goons" and looking at present condition of the country and deeds of the political class. The statement is proved true even after 67 years after gaining independence. When an officer halts illegal activity then the ruling class dismisses the officer and dictates to ruling party that if they say anything against the decision then the support of their MP's in Parliament would be taken back. Every person in power rules their people rather then administering efficiently for their upliftment. PreIndependence era was 100 times better wrto law and order, implementation of laws and another merit about British era was that we were much better placed in transport sector in pre independence era, train journey from Ambala cantt to Amritsar took 4 hrs then and it still takes 4 hrs in superfast class of trains....isn't it shameful.
<br />
<br />
In India a major portion of the votes which are given is often purchased by the candidates(who have deep pockets filled with money which they gulped in their last term). Majority of the people put votes by keeping their castes in mind and making as goon win elections(from their own cast), rather then choosing a candidate with clean image. Some percentage of Indian voters are really really foolish(according to me) as we can clearly see around 30 percent of criminals representing people, These criminals would never ever be convicted because as they say "supremacy of parliament should be maintained" and they are above the law. This bloody notion that Parliament is above all other institutions(even the constitution) is helping in shielding the criminals/corrupt people who have reached there by hook/crook and muscle power.
<br />
<br />
The whole bloody system is corrupt, people are sleeping, Political class is doing nothing for country as various initiatives which were good for country like "Hum do hamare do" for controlling population is no more advertised and is informally taken back by the government with the sole reason being that if population is controlled and people start studying till the level when they can understand things good for country then they would root out the present political class, So why hit your own feet with axe. When Politicians follow approach of "Divide and Rule" over people rather then unite them together for the country, Looks like the political class have put country up for sale, everything can be purchased here votes, goons, riots, disharmony, and we are thaught that britishers played "Divide and Rule". I still think that if Britain didn't go bankrupt after second world war then they would have administered us for a longer duration and we would have been technologically ahead by atleast ten years as of now.
<br />
<br />
I still firmly believe this country needs a revolution against corrupt political class, so that we can maintain the rich history we possesed, rather then saying britishers took it all away, whereas actually it's the political class which is taking it all away from the country and selling the country to foreign hands. I somwtimes wonder about why in USA the party which wins the election and forms government is termed as 'Administration' whereas in India we are 'ruled' by the politicians which we elect. God save this country because if some offcial wants to do right he/she is transferred/suspended (for example Ashok Khemka and Durga nagpal), there would be many others which the media class is not paid for to highlight.
<br />
<br />
GOD SAVE THIS COUNTRY from going to the gallows!!
JAI HIND!!

<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: left;" trbidi="on">
<iframe frameborder="0" scrolling="no" src="http://www.facebook.com/plugins/like.php?href=indiaassuperpower.blogspot.com" style="border: medium none; height: 20px; width: 300px;"></iframe></div>
IT industry is the only bright spot if we see rise of Indian economy over last 5-6 years, rest I don't think there is any other sector which stands apart barring maybe we can say auto sector where India is trying hard to become hub for small cars(but that still has long way to go). The Indian IT sector has shown the nation and the government "power of general class". Since government is playing vote bank politics by giving reservations and killing competition(which is infact even more important in rising of good breed of officials and bureaucrats).
<br />
<br />
With no reservations at all and jobs based on merit and knowledge, IT industry has shown the nation and political class the power of general class. With good salary packages to performing individuals it has been truly competitive economic sector. Other advantage with the IT sector is it's billing model, as it bills the employees in USD's but pays in INR, thus the IT companies enjoys high profit margins, and this rises when rupee value falls in international markets.
<br />
<br />
In this post actually I thought of why not Indian IT companies change their compensation model where variable component of an employee should vary with exchange rate of US dollar and project profit margins. I think this would help in bringing even more competitiveness in employees for making project rating better in order to increase their variable component and thus their take-home. Their are/mightbe limitations for this billing model with respect to daily exchange rate fluctuations, but for that case we can see the average for a quarter of year or the variable pay cycle applicable(so that employees might not feel cheated or underpaid). This model would raise the work done by the payroll department though.
<br />

<a href="http://indiaassuperpower.blogspot.in/2013/07/fundamentally-weak-economy-like-india.html">Fundamentally weak Indian economy</a>
<br />
<br />
So in this way of calculating employee compensation I come to following formula:<br />
<strong>So employee Compensation = fixed compensation(80%) + variable part{(proj profit* USD rate/project employee strength) + (employee client feedback)}</strong><br />
Does it make sense?<br />
Presently employee variable is not affected by prevailing rate hence margins of IT companies rise even with lesser number of new projects, buit employee feels cheated over forex gain made by the IT company.
What do you think about this model? leave your comments for in favour or not so good model, or flaws which might come in practical use.

<iframe frameborder="0" scrolling="no" src="http://www.facebook.com/plugins/like.php?href=indiaassuperpower.blogspot.com" style="border: medium none; height: 20px; width: 300px;"></iframe>
In last couple of decades in world economic history, only one country stands out ie 'CHINA', In developing it's highly competitive manufacturing based economy especially in Consumer electronics and in all the sectors, China has become lone manufacturing hub of the world. You see any thing and it's 'MADE IN PRC' written all over it. Indian economy has never cleared even the heats to compete among the top manufacturing countries.
<br />
<br />
Recent turmoil in Indian economy (with USD reaching 61 INR levels) is a testimony to fundamentally weak economy. We can boast only of services sector alone, but services sector can never be considered as helpful in creating a fundamentally strong economy. Indian market has become a puppet in hands of foreign players and government an agent in helping them establish their footprint.
<br />
<br .="" />
Other thing which adversly add's to fundamentally weak economy is the high level corruption which prevents foreign companies to invest in India. When Indian government wanted to dis-invest some stake of PSU recently, there were hardly any takers for the freed share. This is because FII's fear that government would sleep and do nothing in making the employees of PSU's competent. Union ministers donot give clearance to Foreign projects until their portion of bribe has been transferred, social groups come in for halting the development of a financially weaker area etc etc.
<br />
<br />
Many of the small scale manufacturing units have closed down in recent past only because instead of making their own products they are now acting as import agent and have starting importing their products from China, this has effected manufacturing capacity of Indian economy very badly, there are job losses(direct and in-direct job loss). recently one of my relatives who is manager of a company which is into Container manufacturing business noted that, the container which has least manufacturing cost of 2.25 lac's when manufactured in India, can be imported from china with all inclusive price(shipping, import duty etc) of 1.75 lac's. This has further hampered growth of heavy industrial goods manufacturing in India. Prices in India is higher due to corruption in the working system of the country.
<br />
<br />
We are unable to feed our people using our own products as our manufacturing has slowed down wrto growth of the population. This probably because political class hardly cares about the country instead they are busy filling their own coffins. This is proved when recently central government put a ban on onion export as prices in country are rising because of rains in Maharashtra's onion producing region, but coalition partner disagreed with center's decision citing that it would destroy India as competitive agro exporter in world(Pathetic logic as native citizen has first right on country's resources and farm produce), so when we have such species of politicians present, It looks very difficult for Indian economy to become fundamentally strong and we can never think that our exports would surpass our imports in coming years, until government focuses on local manufacturing and rises import duty without thinking of their individual benefits before nation's.
<br />

Greetings from <strong>Indiaassuperpower</strong>, One stop blog on rising corruption in India and social evils.
<br />
<br />
Recently we came to know about the afraidness of Indian political parties for coming under ambit of RTI act. It felt nice to me when I saw that atleast the political parties can also be afraid of something, in the land where half of the country is run by judgments of Supreme court and Politicians thinking themselves above law.
<br />
<br />
One of the reason for this reluctance for comin into ambit of RTI act is basically EGO problem that says to each of every MP of India from within "Hey! I am the one who votes in making a law for masses , how come such law be applicable to me, IT JUST CAN'T HAPPEN TO ME" sounds really funny for these mind ignorant few who make laws/amend laws for their betterment.
<br />
<br />
There are many demerits for bringing Political parties under RTI which would directly affect the money suction capacity of party members (until they find new way of gulping money), The major problem which political parties would surely face if they come under RTI is that such move would expose the <strong>BUSINESS-MAN - POLITICIAN - BUREAUCRATS NEXUS</strong>, actually one doesnot need to be super intelligent in understanding the working of the businessman-politician-bureaucrats nexus which works together in eating Natural resources of the country and tax evasion activities.
<br />
<br />
Here I would explain in breif how does this BUSINESS-MAN - POLITICIAN - BUREAUCRATS nexus works-<br />
<br />
A cash rich businessmen wants to start new business(or expand present business), he wants to import some raw material from abroad(which presently attracts import duty of lets say 20 percent), he contacts a in power politician of leading political party to decrease import duty to 1 percent(until his imports arrive). The politician changes the import duty (after he gets few crores as party fund from the businessmen), In this time warehouses are stocked up by ample raw material and the ministry is told to raise the import duty back to 20 percent. This moves stifles competition as others cant have the advantage of the 19 percent import duty reduction. Now imagine if Political party comes under RTI, this whole money exchanges would become public and more scams/favouritism would unearthen(which currently goes unnoticed). Now if the politician himself has stake in company then money transfer might not be required as profits of such move are shared between owners of business.
<br />
<br />
So I strongly feel that such move would never be legally implemented as it would affect bread and Butter of political parties, as we say in hindi 'Apne hi pet par laat kaun maarega'</div>

Greetings from <strong>IndiaAsSuperPower</strong>, a blog on Indian political system and corruption engulfing it.
<br />
<br />
With India becoming hotspot in Asian corruption index and Political corruption reaching all time high values, here I propose a different method for curbing the menace of corruption which can be summed up in one line as<br />
<br />
<strong>"Put a restriction limit on private property which an individual can purchase"</strong>
<br />
<br />
India is land of 'equivalent black money' with this I mean it has official economy worth some 1.5 trillion and same value black economy running in parallel. This 'black money' is responsible for abnormal inflation, rise in Realty and other prices which affect poor and lower middle class more then anybody else, The worst affected are ones who earn less then 10,000 INR per month<br />
<br />
Resources are very limited in India be it Land, minerals, water etc and current scenario is that rich are laundering the resources for their use and blocking them, thus preventing equal distribution between masses. Land resources is most sought of resource for the rich(those who have black money in store for them). A influential businessman in India has acres of land in his name(commercial, farmhouses, kothi, bunglow, agricultural land) because purchasing land is most easy way of using the black money(which is earned by not giving taxes, or by paying Income tax officials their share for keeping their mouth shut).
<br />
<br />
I strongly believe that there should be limit on private land owned by a family, like 500 sqyd house limit for a couple.
This step would help in decreasing the amount of black money circulating in Indian economy because people would think the black money has lesser value now as their limit for property investment is over and they can't purchase anything new on their name as such move would attract a government inquiry into their assets. Other very good initiative for controlling black money in realty is to make government circle rates more then the prevailing market rates in the circle.
<br />
<br />
Most of the black money holders have huge amount of land banks in their names/driver's name etc. Thus putting a limit on private property possession to (500 sq yard max) is most important factor in preventing corruption. I dont know why government of India doesnot pass a bill which implements 'residential land for all'?
<br />
<br />
Putting a restriction of private property would also help in keeping real-estate prices in check as Real-estate prices escalate as politicians/bureaucrats/businessmen purchase insane amount of land bank in urban areas, thus creating an artificial boom(which Indian Realty market is currently into)
<br />
<br />
So what do you feel about this proposal/idea of <strong>'Put Restriction(limit) on Private property'</strong>, do leave a comment for a healthy conversation.
<br />

Time and again we hear loads of false statements from politicians, Bureaucrats, or any other government personal who is allocated money which is collected as tax. So now the first question which arises in mind of a normal taxpayer of India is that Why are there no laws in place for making these illetrate politicians accountable for whatever they do with a single penny spent by them which is collected as tax? Purchasing votes, instigating Communal riots, stashing part of money abroad, getting higher grant for a project and transferring extra money to tax heavens and bringing them back in their businesses through Mauritius route.. these are few of the methods used by politicians, Bureaucrats for stealing tax-payers money, the worst part is that the system/society/law knows it but the lawmakers are still hot held accountable to people of India for this theft.
<br />
<br />
India has been converted into a banana republic(which I have already posted earlier <a href="http://indiaassuperpower.blogspot.in/2012/05/india-banana-republic-in-making.html" title="banana republic - India">read here</a>.) by these non Accountable rulers/politicians/bureaucrats. I strongly feel/state that India can never become corruption free and make its citizens believe in it's foundation as a nation until we make our politicians accountable for whatsoever they do with the tax-payers money, now there are 3 questions which arise in order to help in achieving it?
<br />
<br />
1. Will this be initiated by the ruling class themselves?<br />
Ans 1. It's a complete 'No' now and probable 'may be' after 50 years from now<br />
2. Is something on lines of Arab spring required to achieve this?<br />
Ans 2. looks like a debatable answer now with it's pros and cons, the only immediate merit of such situation is decrease in number of current corrupt politicians.<br />
3. Adding option of 'none of above' in voting machines?<br />
Ans 3. This looks like fastest method for making India corrupt politicians free, If largest numbers of vote falls in 'none of above' category then the eligibility of all the candidates should be cancelled for rest of life, since answers clearly sends message to Election commission that people of constituency have lost their trust in all of them.
<br />

रोहित: मैच के साथ साथ सीरिज़ भी हार गए आज!<br />
<br />
धोनी: क्या बात है.. शाबाश लड़के.. बल्लेबाज़ी तेरी कितनी भी घटिया हो,
Observation power कमाल की है!
<br />
<br />
रोहित: यार आज तो मैं खेला ही नहीं, आज तो मुझे मत बोल. इन सबने
घटिया बल्लेबाज़ी की, इनको बोल!
<br />
<br />
सहवाग: मुँह संभाल के बात कर रोहित, मेरी पारी ठीक थी.
गंभीर: रहने दे वीरू, हम वहीं थे. आधे रन तो तेरे Overthrow से बन रहे थे.<br />
<br />
सहवाग: गौती, तेरी तरह बोल्ड तो नहीं हुआ, विकेट तो बच गई!<br />
<br />
धोनी: बस करो यार… तुम मियाँ- बीवी दोनों को अगले मैच से निकाल देते हैं.
तसल्ली से बाहर बैठ कर लड़ना.<br />
<br />
सहवाग: दिल्ली मे मैच है माही, दिल्ली के लड़के तो खेलेंगे.<br />
<br />
धोनी: हाँ, दिल्ली के लड़के तो खेलेंगे, विराट और ईशांत.. दिल्ली के अंकल लोग बाहर बैठेंगे.<br />
<br />
सहवाग: ये लड़के?? (कोहली की तरफ इशारा करते हुए) चीकू ने क्या उखाड़
लिया था आज, वाइड बॉल पर आउट हुआ.<br />
<br />
कोहली: क्या वीरू भाई, मेरी जगह पर तो नज़र मत डालो.. मेरी क्या ग़लती है,
पता ही नहीं था कि ये अकमल भी कैच वैच लेने लग गया है.<br />
<br />
जडेजा: किसी को कुछ पता नहीं था कैसे रन बनाने हैं, मैने फालतू मे इतनी अच्छी गेंदबाज़ी की.<br />
<br />
युवराज: साला यही दिन देखना बाकी रह गया था कि जडेजा भी ताना मारे!<br />
<br />
जडेजा: युवी भाई, आज मेरी तरफ से कोई कमी नहीं थी. आज तो बनता है.<br />
<br />
युवराज: चल भाई, तेरा दिन है आज.. जैसे नासिर जमशेद का था.<br />
<br />
रैना: यार ये नासिर का पता करवाओ, इसका क्या बिगाड़ा है हमने जो हर मैच मे लेने लग जाता है.<br />
<br />
धोनी: क्या पता करवाना है यार, ऐसे ऐसे गेंदबाज़ हों तो कोई भी सर चढ़ कर ले सकता है.<br />
<br />
रहाने: कोई नहीं सर, जो हुआ सो हुआ. अगले मैच मे देख लेंगे उनको.<br />
<br />

Heard about Congrass proposing changes in rape laws, Could not prevent laughing myself as this news looked similar as builders in Noida Extension promoting proposed metro line which would take another 5-10 years(being optimistic) for actual implementation of this proposal.
<br />
<br />
Similar is this (to be proposed) proposal made by Congress, 369 sitting MP's have criminal cases against them. So do these MP's think that mango man don't understand such vote bank tactics ie proposing soemthing which would never be implemented as implementation would put MP's benhind bars or Chemical castration (in some cases). However I would certainly like if Congress pays money to MP's or use any other settlement method(like withdrawing CBI cases against them) for passing this amendment, But this doesnot looks the case this time as the law would help mango man and not the politicians, so paying for something which would help common people of India is certainly not the thing our MP's are known to do for free!
<br />
<br />
I was surfing the net for getting a list of sitting MP's with criminal charges against them(including Rape/molestation).
<br />
<br />
Following are MP's with rape charges against them:
<br />
<br />
1.<strong>S. Semmalai</strong> : He is an MP from Salem Constituency of Tamil Nadu state as a member of AIDMK( All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam ) Party.<br />
2.<strong>Suvendu Adhikari</strong> : He is an MP from Tamluk Constituency of West Bengal state as a member of All India Trinamool Congress Party.
<br />
<br />
Maximum cases of crimes against women are against candidates from Bihar (9), followed by Maharashtra(6), and Uttar Pradesh (5). <strong>Converting a state into cantonment, fear of a public uprising, civil war is an perfect example of weak and afraid government</strong>. Always remember the biggest power of any country is POWER OF THE MOB/NORMAL CITIZENS So while concluding I can still say that nothing substantial would come out from Parliament this time also, as was the case with JanLokPal uprising!
<br />
<br /></div>
Another Important piece of information regarding our sitting MP'S can be seen in following pages:<br />

<iframe frameborder="0" scrolling="no" src="http://www.facebook.com/plugins/like.php?href=indiaassuperpower.blogspot.com" style="border: medium none; height: 20px; width: 300px;"></iframe>
While the south India is famous for intellectual ability, Northern part is notoriously famous for their ability of raping females openly without any fear of concrete rape laws in place. The idea of my post has gathered enough steam after the recent rape of 23 year old by 6 guys with high rape intellect ability. A common phenomenon found among males residing/working/passing in/through delhi.
<br />
<br />
The words of Winston Churchill appeared in front of my eyes again and it read:
"When ever we leave India it would be run by Goons" and my god it is! The whole problem starts because of weak civil laws, No time frame for judicial cases..ever increasing society divide between girl and boy child, dwindling sex ratio numbers in north india.Political class doing nothing as still none of them have been raped. May be they might make concrete and fast laws for punishing the convicted rapists. The whole problem actually originates from the social structure where males are given more respect then the females in North India, I have lived for nearly 5 years in southern part too and I respect the social structure of south India then the North india.
<br />
<br />
The effect of British raj's effort of degrading social structure is now visible in almost 80-90 percent of population of Delhi, There is no respect shown to females what so ever!! . Situation has become such worse that only fear of law can prevent such acts from occurring. When the Rapists are doing the act there is no fear at all in their minds about the law..I repeat NO FEAR OF LAW IN THEIR MINDS WHILE RAPING/EVETEASING !!
<br />
<br />
Another reason is over protecting politicians, The ratio of a police personal/1000 people is not even one which makes prevention of such crimes impossible as majority of policemen are busy in serving/protecting politicians.

Thought of writing this post as it has kept on striking part of my brain for last couple of days. We all know that Pranab Mukherjee is a mass leader for congrass(*e). So best decent method for dumping such mass leader is Rashtrapati bhawan. The top 2 reasons for such step by top congress management (which included Pranab mukherjee himself too) are following:
1) Failure of Pranab mukherjee as finance minister.
2) Rahul baba wanted to play bigger role by getting rid of old dead wood.
<br />
<br />
So congrass(*e) management did similar to what we say in hindi "ek teer se do nishane", first is now bad shape of indian economy would be corrected by some capable person..like chiddu , and Rahul baba might step into home ministry role...initially the may be PM(PM role looks remote until 2014 elections though)....
<br />
<br />
Lets see in coming couple of month's which role is given to Rahul baba.

Again posting after a long time, but the time is most important ingredient for this post, It is about Indian politico-economic scenario and is it right to call India a Banana Republic? The answer acccording to me is yes India can be called a Banana republic, ok now you must be asking why? This post would explain it.
Firstly a brief about term - 'Banana Republic', A banana republic is term given by O.henry for a country that has ruling plutocracy of Business, politics and military/police and judiciary. ie private exploitation of public properties and debt incurred is public responsibility..and these Indian politicians have helped in making India fit to be called a Banana republic.<br />
<br />
There are numerous examples where indian politicians and business houses have exploited the public resources, They obviously cant be put behind bars because in a Banana republic all three segments, politicians, businessmen, police/military works for each other rather then for people, hence this politicians and businessmen nexus is impossible to break. Now you might be thinking why this nexus is impossible to break? - The answer is rather simple police would be used to torture person who initiates anything against this nexus.
The other important question which comes to our mind is how to put an end to it, In a banana republic misrepresentations about data by govt offices can never end. This business/politicians nexus is used by big companies to stifle growth of newcomers into their domain, I would explain it with example- One of the biggest Indian businesss houses imported some yarn when the excise duty on the yarn was 5 percent, he stocked his warehouses well, and then using his political connections the very next day he told delhi to raise excise duty on that yarn to 25 percent, Delhi did it happily since the power of doing resides with them. Now the other players of yarn industry imported by paying 25 percent duty, They also know about the reason for increase in duty suddenly without any need/req for such increase, but because these small players are not strong enough, they cant do anything, Now the biggest player sold the yarn in India at 125 INR/unit thus other players become bankrupt as they are not in position to price their goods at that rate.
Such tactics are used by biggest Indian businesses for stiffling competition using Economic/political connections.
This nexus yields to never ending corruptioncases - Take 2G scam - Do you think something concrete would come out of the judiciary? I highly doubt so...2G scam case is a never ending case just like fodder scam or numerous other scams.<br />
<br />
Due to this nexus Indian economy has become inbalanced and such imbalanced economy devaluates currency considerably. The country is ineligible for international development-credit, and remains limited by the uneven economic development of town and country, In a banana republic government servants exploit their posts for personal gains. All the points where public money is collected directly like Toll plazas, electricity department, PWD would rarely go showing profits because part of revenue earned goes to politicians, higher officials etc.
Also in Banana republic nation like India government budget deficit repaid by the native working people who “earn money”, rather than “make money”. Isn't it shocking...actually it is disturbing! - you are reading Indiaassuperpower.blogspot.in, thanks for visiting!
Indian Political class is rather funny - When a govt agency puts 2G losses at 176000 crores and an ignorant cabinet minister(who basically has notion that he is most brainy indian) puts that figure to ZERO!!...hahahaha
Another aspect of Banana republic which India fulfills diligently is that we have an unaccountable government, Parliamentarians are usually up for sale and function as ceremonial government. With rich becoming even richer and Poor more poorer by each passing day.<br />
<br />
When Civil society raises their voice, the politicians try to stifle their voices (again by using Police/force) like the case of Ramlila ground in delhi. The irony is these ignorant politicians think they are masters in making policies but actual scenario is when a real brainy person speaks to them then they simply look like asses in front of him. In my personal view -'Five senior cabinet leaders looks like asses when compared to intellect level of Arwind kejriwal' for sure.
The business houses are looting government which is looting Indian taxpayers money(after giving politicians their share) and grow even taller in India.
Thus for concluding this never ending debate on Is India a true Banana republic? - and my answer to it is YES!</div>

<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: left;" trbidi="on">
<iframe frameborder="0" scrolling="no" src="http://www.facebook.com/plugins/like.php?href=indiaassuperpower.blogspot.com" style="border: medium none; height: 20px; width: 300px;"></iframe></div>
In this post I would discus about the changes which are must during voting, Elections days, which would certainly help in electing best candidate or electing no candidate when there is no good candidate contesting ( This second case is currently not allowed in India), Choosing No candidate and choosing not to cast your vote can be a very powerful in eradicating corrupt candidates.
<br />
<br />
If a eligible voter doesnot want to cast his vote to any one of candidate (as candidates have criminal records, pending cases) then he can use article 49-0 for recording the fact that he doesnot want to cast his vote. However currently the whole process of using 49-O is cumbersome and not secret because if a voter chooses 49-O then he has to tell the presiding officer about this and thus secrecy of ballot is not followed in this approach which might become problem for the ballot as candidates come to know about people who have not casted votes, and we all know what any criminal can do.
<br />
<br />
The exact wording of article 49-O from constitution is as written below:
<br />
<br />
49-O. Elector deciding not to vote.-If an elector, after his electoral roll number has been duly entered in the register of voters in Form-17A and has put his signature or thumb impression thereon as required under sub-rule (1) of rule 49L, decided not to record his vote, a remark to this effect shall be made against the said entry in Form 17A by the presiding officer and the signature or thumb impression of the elector shall be obtained against such remark.
<br />
<br />
Current implementation of article 49-O violates the <strong>secret ballot</strong>. because the elegible voter has to tell to presiding officer about his intent of using 49-O thus it doesnot remain a secret anymore which husrts the basic of whole election process. But this can adher to secret ballot easily if our corrupt parliamentarians pass a bill for providing "none of the above" option along with candidate names in Electronic voting machines. Members of Civil society are demanding this bill and rightly so because if bill is passed so that when number of "none of the above" option is the highest for a particular constituency then all the candidates standing in elections for this constituency would never ever be eligible to stand in elections in future.
<br />
<br />
I think this approach would help in eradicating corrupt candidates from getting into the parliament and doing nothing for their quota of whole 5 years. If you have even better ideas for must have reforms in election process in India, do leave a comment for a healthy discussion.

<iframe frameborder="0" scrolling="no" src="http://www.facebook.com/plugins/like.php?href=indiaassuperpower.blogspot.com" style="border: medium none; height: 20px; width: 300px;"></iframe>
Writing a post after a long long time, but was so preoccupied this whole time. Well anyways I am back and this post is regarding -making all government payments electronically, whether the payment is to be made by the government or to the government. It should all be done electronically.
Making Payments in which government offices are involved electronically or using cash cards is very important for putting an end to corruption in India, which is corrupt from the root to the highest branch(if we consider India as a tree). There are many advantages of electronic payments over cash payments such as it is much convienient, goes through a bank so no question of black money because Income tax guys have direct eye on high value transactions made electronically. The only disadvantage for the ministers and government officers is that their personal pockets are not filled ie they cant take bribe. To compliment electronic transactions, there should be a premium value(in percentage) in case one has to use cash. This system which I am talking about is not new and is already implemented in many countries, I would give a self example.
<br />
During my visit to london in 2010, I went to CarphoneWarehouse showroom for purchasing a mobile phone, It costed 40 pounds and 10 pounds mandatory topup. When I asked for how much I have to pay in cash, the lady told 60 pounds, I argued that in your website You have mentioned 50 pounds which includes topup, she replied if you are paying using a card then you have to pay 50 pounds total else in cash the deal is of 60 pounds. So such scenario will automatically encourage payments electronically rather then conventional methods of payment.
<br />
Talking of above case in Indian scenario for payments involving government, suppose government has thrown a tender for some infra project and waits for the minimum bid, Now presently we all know the whole tender process of center and state governments involve lot of bribes to the ministry involved for selection of tender, If whole payment has to be made electronically then one thing is for sure that money involved would be white as no-one can forge bills with wrong values(as it is done presently). This way of electronic payments should then be gradually adopted by non-governemnt institutes, But the most important thing for its implementation is that MP's have to pass a bill making it a law. This condition is most difficult to happen as ministers doesnot want an end to hard cash method of payment. If present corrupt Government of India adopts this method then there would be drastic decrease in black money revolving along with the white economy. Recently UID chairmen Nilekani also proposed thet all payments above 100 Rs should be made electronically. I may have missed certain scenarios in which such method might not be as effective as cash, you can always add that in comment section.
<br />
The other obstruction in this appraoch is present thinking of people which give a sort of meagre discounts on cash payments whereas ideally it should be vice-versa. Property prices all over the world are tasting dust but in india there is no decrease in property prices because whole real estate sector thrive on black money. Another advantage of electronic payment methods is that there would be tremendous increase in direct and indirect tax collection of the government as presently there is no tax collection from transactions involving black money.</div>Unknownnoreply@blogger.com2
